When a problem lies ahead, you can say you are facing difficulties. “Face” can mean looking in the direction of something (pointing your face toward it). Sometimes we have a choice between facing a problem and running away.

Of course, he did not write it all by himself. Others, including Benjamin Franklin, helped, and a lot was changed or deleted after it was finished.

“However” is another way to say “but.” However, it fits into sentences in a different way. Sometimes it comes at the end of a sentence where “but” would come at the beginning. It can also come at the beginning. It can even come in the middle. It is usually set off with commas.

The story has been romanticized, but it is based on a real event. Seeing two lanterns, a signal that the enemy was coming by sea rather than by land, Revere spread the information to others who in turn helped deliver the message.
